You know, many times throughout our lives we find that most of our pain and suffering has to deal with matters of the heart. It seems very hard to deal with such matters in a short period of time. It seems that time is needed. Much time, even years. No matter how you view it, many people feel that it may take at least a year to overcome or “get over” an offense that deals with matters of the heart whether it is a broken relationship or something that scarred you from school and/or childhood. We have seen that many people are still dealing with issues in their 30’s even 40’s.
Remember the old saying, “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.”? We know that’s not true. The Bible tells us that from the tongue flows death and life(Proverbs 18:21), so this old cliche is definitely wrong. Words do hurt and even kill. Words That go to our heart and depending on what words are used, can build or destroy.
When it comes to matters of the heart, the heart of the matter is forgiveness. Yes forgiveness. Jesus said to forgive so that you may be forgiven.(Luke 6:37) The key is forgiveness. We must forgive the offender, the offense, and most importantly, our self. Forgiveness gives us freedom. It allows us to break free from the shackles of oppression, hurt, pain, doubt and suffering. You may notice over time that what ever is bothering you seems to never go away, especially if it is a matter of the heart. So when it comes to matters of the heart, the heart of the matter is forgiveness. Marriages can be saved and/or enhanced. Friendships, relationships of all kinds are much better with forgiveness in the heart. Freedom!
We are much stronger with forgiveness in our hearts. That which was holding us back is broken. The chains are loosed, you can get out of the mud and move forward and most importantly, prosper. God gave us the key. It is forgiveness. Have matters dealing with your heart? Well the heart of the matter is FORGIVENESS!
Happy Father’s Day to all of my brethren! May your line be blessed. On this day let us remember that God commanded us to love. So let the love of our Father in Heaven flow through us and fill our sons and daughters so that our childrens’ children may know the true love that comes from a man. It is the love that God intended for us to share. Peace be to you and your house!
What are your thoughts on this subject?
In these fast pace times, it has become very difficult to spend time with family. There is so much going on. The importance of spending time with family has become second tier to work, the social beat, and all sorts of activities. I have learned, from my past mistakes with my children, the importance of spending time with children, and especially your spouse. Make the time, any way you can my brethren. God tells us to train our children in the way they should go, not the way they want to go. This is done mostly by example. Fathers, our children are watching us and they will do what they see us do. The bible tells us to love our wives, and again, our children are watching. The example is time well spent. Creating the time whenever we can. Take time out with your spouse. Let us bring back family night. I often have movie night at home with snacks with just my family. My wife, Elicia, and I often spend quiet time together as well as romantic evenings. We do this even after a long day’s work. Find the time my brethren. Remember, the bible says to redeem the time for the days are evil. If you don’t find the time, someone else will and that may not be a pleasant experience for them or you. I have a little clip that shows some of what I mean. (SPREAD THE LOVE!)-ljzN958ghE
Would you be ready for the return of Christ!
No matter what is going on in your life! Count the good and the bad, all joy! We know that all things work together for good for them that love God and ask yourself, “Would you be you if you and not experienced everything that you have?” There are things that you can share with friends, children, co-workers and even strangers that may be a benefit to them. Your testimony is a powerful tool that God has given you!
